TERRA-Southwest: One week away from an Alaska broadband revolution

The excitement is building in the southwest region of the state. The town of Bethel and surrounding villages will soon be getting access to faster and more reliable high-speed Internet. The $88 million TERRA-Southwest project is just about complete and ready to officially go online. Governor Parnell helped test the system last week with great success. TERRA-Southwest is set to provide broadband service to 65 communities in the Bristol Bay and Yukon Kuskokwim Delta regions. That includes more than 9,000 households and 750 businesses.
