By CAK Staff

Thanks to a grant from Verizon, an Alaska school district is going to launch a new 3D printing program.

According to an article from Alaska Business Monthly, the Northwest Arctic Borough School District has been awarded a $20,000 Verizon Innovate Learning Grant, which will be used for “its Arctic Careers in 3D Printing program, which will incorporate 3D printing technology and curriculum in the STEM labs of its 11 schools that serve more than 500 high school students.”

“We’re tremendously thankful to receive this grant. 3D printing has the power to transform life in Arctic villages and improve the lives of our students and our families,” said Brian Krosschell, director of State and Federal Programs for the Northwest Arctic Borough School District, said in the article.
